Human Rights and Peace Concern Society

Welcome to the official website of the Human Rights and Peace Concerns Society located in Kathmandu, Nepal. We are dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights and fostering peace in our society and beyond.

The Human Rights and Peace Concerns Society (HRPCS) is a non-profit organization established with the aim of advocating for human rights, social justice, and peace in Nepal. Founded in 2011, our organization has been actively involved in various initiatives to address pressing human rights issues and promote peaceful coexistence.

We facilitate dialogue and reconciliation efforts to address conflicts and build sustainable peace at the local, national, and international levels. Our programs focus on conflict resolution, peace education, and fostering intercultural understanding.

Human Rights Advocacy
We advocate for the rights of marginalized communities, including women, children, LGBTQ+ individuals, indigenous groups, and people with disabilities. Through research, lobbying, and campaigns, we work towards policy reforms and legal frameworks that safeguard human rights.
Peacebuilding Initiatives
We facilitate dialogue and reconciliation efforts to address conflicts and build sustainable peace at the local, national, and international levels. Our programs focus on conflict resolution, peace education, and fostering intercultural understanding.
Capacity Building
We provide training and capacity-building programs for civil society organizations, grassroots activists, and youth leaders on human rights, peacebuilding, conflict transformation, and advocacy strategies.

Mission

HURPECS will advance human rights through advocacy, dispute resolution, networking and capacity building as a dynamic organization.

Goals

We serve people without consideration of ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, gender, sexual identity/orientation, race, differently abled issue, and/or substance abuse issues.

Vision

Build a society in which the universal declaration of human rights is understood and practices, as well as achieving sustainable development by eliminating gender inequality and other forms of social injustice also recognizing and scrutinizing poverty and other negative situations that may arise in underprivileged and minority communities.
Objectives of Organization

In order to fulfill Vision, Mission and Goal of Human Rights and Peace Concern Society are the following areas of intervention are identified:

To advocate for the protection and promotion of human rights for all individuals, with a particular focus on marginalized and vulnerable groups, including women, children, LGBTQ+ individuals, indigenous communities, and people with disabilities. This includes lobbying for policy reforms, raising awareness about human rights issues, and supporting victims of human rights violations.
To mobilize the society through utilizing local and external contribution for rights based food, shelter and clothes.
To contribute to the establishment and maintenance of peace in society by facilitating dialogue, mediation, and reconciliation processes among conflicting parties. This involves promoting peaceful coexistence, fostering intercultural understanding, and addressing the root causes of conflict through non-violent means.
To empower civil society organizations, grassroots activists, and youth leaders with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to effectively promote human rights, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution. This includes providing training, workshops, and educational programs on relevant topics.
To conduct research and documentation on human rights violations, conflict dynamics, and peacebuilding efforts in Nepal. This includes monitoring and reporting on human rights abuses, documenting case studies, and analyzing trends to inform advocacy strategies and policy recommendations.
To increase the participation of women, children, Dalits and backward people through social empowerment.
To actively engage with local communities, stakeholders, and decision-makers to promote human rights awareness, facilitate community-led initiatives for peace, and ensure the participation of marginalized groups in decision-making processes.
